Real Madrid and Germany legend Toni Kroos expects Florian Wirtz to be successful at Liverpool
Florian Wirtz might be the most watched player in Europe next season…
Former Bayern Munich and Germany midfielder Toni Kroos left Germany and became a superstar.
For German players, that career path is never a sure thing.
Now, the latest high-profile German will make the jump to England and hope to have the kind of success aboard that Kroos once had and not the career-killing experience that felled Timo Werner or the temporary derailment that Kai Havertz went through.
Kroos thinks that Wirtz will be just fine.
“If he thinks that’s the best next step for him and his career, then that’s good,” Kroos said (as captured by Bulinews via Liverpool.com). “You can technically only judge decisions like this afterwards, of course. [Wirtz] is a player who can prevail at any club in the world, in my opinion. It doesn’t matter if it would’ve been Bayern or Liverpool, it’s different from being at Leverkusen for sure — but he has all the tools to assert himself at any given top club.”
The fame, media focus, and spotlight on Wirtz will be massive — and that might be just as hard for the Germany international to deal with as opposed to the actual play on the field.
