Mike Krukow and Duane Kuiper poke fun at other team’s announcer.
Gordon Beckham is filling in as an analyst for Steve Stone on NBC Sports Chicago during the Chicago White Sox series against the San Francisco Giants, much as he has done on previous road trips this season. That allowed Giants broadcasters Mike Krukow and Duane Kuiper the opportunity to have some fun with Beckham. While not a superstar, Beckham enjoyed a nice playing career, playing 1,069 games over 11 seasons. Calling the series in San Francisco is something of a homecoming for Beckham, who briefly played with the Giants in 2016.
Krukow and Kuiper collaborated with Len Kasper, who was standing in for regular White Sox announcer John Schriffen, to tape a segment regarding Beckham’s San Francisco tenure. “Welcome back,” Krukow replied. “Game 2 at Oracle Park. And, Kuip, I found out today that our old acquaintance, Len Kasper, will be broadcasting the White Sox game tonight on television with his partner. I believe it’s Gordon Beckham. “Yeah,” Kuiper responded.
