Chelsea are set to unleash the undiscovered teenager and hand him his first-team debut soon, with head coach
Enzo Maresca saying it’s “just a matter of time” before he makes his debut.
During the international break, Maresca and his staff have been busy preparing for a crucial away game against
Liverpool, following a highly entertaining 1-1 draw with Nottingham Forest at Stamford Bridge.
The game had it all: sending-offs, goals, miraculous saves, near-culpable moments and plenty of drama.
It’s safe tosay that this is the most interesting draw in the Premier League this season, and either team could have come away victorious.
Forest remain unbeaten away from home, which is quite an achievement for Nuno Espirito Santo, especially
considering the difficult away trips they have faced. Forest took the lead shortly after the restart through Chris Wood and
quickly equalised with a beautiful low shot from Noni Madueke in the 57th minute.
Mats Sels and Robert Sanchez both made incredible saves to keep the score going, but the deciding moment came when
Sels denied superstar Cole Palmer with a superb double save from close range.
Nicholas Jackson was unfortunately 5/10 against Forest and Christopher Nkunku probably should have scored with a
close-range header. However, Sels’ categorical denial also deserves praise, as the Forest keeper has really taken centre stage.
It has been a very impressive start to the season for Maresca, who is now reportedly set to give promising
youngster Shumaira Mheuka a chance to make his senior debut. By taking X, the Secret Scout expressed his faith that it
was a question of time before Mheuk received a minute for Chelsea. He added that a 16-year-old teenager is already a
member of Chelsea under the age of 21, playing in years above his age group. “It was really good to experience U-21
football and it definitely helped my development.”
