Cole Palmer, who was spotted in the gym almost immediately after the Euro 2024 final, has been praised for his incredible
mentality which saw him endure a contentious European Championship. Although he did not start for England in
the tournament, he made a positive impact off the bench on a number of occasions.
The 22-year-old wasted no time in turning things around in England’s final against Spain, scoring a stunning goal
from long range just minutes after coming on. His shot took his score, but it was not Luis de la Fente’s winner within 5 minutes.
It was difficult for the three Lions campaigns to end this summer, but Palmer refused to stay in the summer,
returned to the gymnasium and prepared another season in the Premier League with Chelsea.
Palmer’s “monster mentality” was praised after footage of him working out in the gym shortly after the Euro 2024
final was published on social media, and the striker wasted no time in starting his preparations for the 2024/25 season. The
video shows him lifting weights instead of taking a short break after a gruelling season last time out and
a summer spent with the Three Lions at the European Championships.
The decision to hit the gym and start training immediately after the Euro 2024 tournament ended, and then
immediately focus on club football with Chelsea, shows a level of professionalism from the star that is generally only seen in players much older than him.
This level of maturity likely played a key role in his remarkable success last year.
Last year was an incredible year for Palmer’s career. Last summer, his movement from Manchester City to
Chelsea was a spark on fire under him. Through his first season, he became a really great talent in Stanford Bridge and
soon became an important person in the first blues team. Throughout the season, Palmer scored 22 goals and provided 11
assists in the Premier League, making him one of the most influential players in the division throughout the year. With
the clear aim of repeating this form once again in 2024-25, Palmer is already ensuring he is in the best possible shape when he returns to the pitch.
