Chelsea players seem to be ready to be patient when trying to leave Stanford Bridge this summer.
Chelsea allowed some players to rent a club last season. These include Kepa Arrizabalaga, Romelu Lukaku and Armando Broja.
Enzo Maresca will take over as manager and it will be a fresh start at Stamford Bridge.
Despite this, some players who were not selected for the first team for the 2023/24 season are still keen to leave.
Lukaku wants to move to Napoli, while Kepa is also keen to move before the transfer window closes.
Kepa spent last season on loan at Real Madrid but barely featured there, with the 29-year-old
only starting 13 La Liga games in total despite an injury to starting goalkeeper Thibaut Courtois.
As the season went on, Carlo Ancelotti preferred Andriy Lunin over the Spaniard. Nevertheless,
it looks like Kepa fancies another move to the Santiago Bernabeu this summer. According to Bernabeu Digital,
Kepa may be looking to wait until August to secure a move to Real Madrid, with the publication claiming that he has
attracted interest from Saudi Arabia but is not ready to move there. If the Spain international fails to join
Real Madrid and ends up staying at Chelsea, he is unlikely to get any playing time in the upcoming season.
Maresca already has Robert Sanchez and Djordje Petrovic between the sticks. A lot will depend on what happens with
Lunin, and if the Ukrainian stays at the Bernabeu, Real will have little reason to sign Kepa now that Courtois is fit again.
Even if Chelsea players have a chance to return to the European champions, they should think twice before signing a contract.
Kepa, who has a £150,000-a-week contract at Stamford Bridge (Spotrack), is only 29 years old and has no plans to
play at Stamford Bridge. He will enjoy his best years playing second fiddle to Courtois as a goalkeeper.
Despite a busy transfer window in which Chelsea signed Keinan Dewsbury-Hall and Tosin Adarabioyo,
the Blues are yet to sign a new striker for the 2024/25 season. They were interested in Michael Auliise, but
the 22-year-old instead left Crystal Palace for Bayern Munich. This meant they had to look elsewhere and Chelsea are now said to be eyeing Pedro Neto.
Walbar Hammpton Wanderers Star is not the only adult moving to Stanford Bridge.
