According to reports, Chelsea’s former Defender and Jake Clark Salter Academy are relevant to switching to a stok City money after a solid campaign with Quins Park Rangers.
Clark Salter left Kobuham’s young system under the head coach of the company Interim GUUS HIDDINK and won 4: 0 in the Premier League Stanford Bridge at Astonvilla.
After the match, club captain John Terry even said, “He reminds me a bit of myself.” Unfortunately, the centre-back only made two further appearances in all competitions and was loaned out six
times to five different clubs, including two at Birmingham City and one each at Sunderland and Coventry City. In 2022, the former England U-21 international left Chelsea after 15 years,
but was snapped up by west London side Queens Park Rangers, signing a four-year contract with the champions. QPR have endured a tough season this season and were six points below safety at
the end of October before Marty Sifuentes was benched to replace Gareth Ainsworth at Loftus Road. However, last Saturday’s 2-1 win against Coventry meant
Rangers finished the season six points above the drop zone. Clarke-Salter was instrumental in a complete turnaround in the club’s fortunes. The 26-year-old made 33 appearances in
all competitions for QPR in the 2023/24 season, scoring one goal and providing one assist during his time in trouble. These impressive performances have
also attracted interest from rival clubs in the Championship and teams in the Premier League. According to John Percy of the Telegraph, Stoke City are considering Clark Salter as a
potential option to strengthen their defense this summer, but the defender is in dispute with Premier League clubs. They say they will face competition. Percy added that
QPR are demanding a transfer fee of between £5m and £7m for the player, who has two years left on his current contract.
As Terry said eight years ago, Clarke-Salter may not have been Chelsea’s key man. However, he still had a decent career in the Championship and helped pull off one of the AFL’s biggest escapes this season.
Despite his young age, the central defender has plenty of time to become a Premier League player.
It would therefore not be surprising if top clubs see him as someone who could strengthen their defensive team in the coming months.
