Manchester City manager Josep Guardiola has said he is concerned about facing the former Chelsea player this weekend.
He directly mentioned the former Blues player’s name in his pre-match press conference ahead of this weekend’s Premier League clash,
which will see the title race intensify. Last year’s busy summer at Stamford Bridge was also fueled by the departure of a number of key players from the club.
Several of them were part of Chelsea’s 2021 Champions League winning squad, including striker Callum Hudson-Odoi. The England international has enjoyed
arguably his best individual season in the Premier League this season since joining Nottingham Forest after things went wrong in west London.
He has five Premier League goals to his name this season and has often been a shining light in a Forest side struggling at the bottom of the table.
They host City this weekend, and that result could be the key to staying top of the table.
Guardiola has named Hudson-Odoi as a person of concern for this weekend’s match. He said:`The atmosphere [at Nottingham Forest] is always great,
there will probably be more of a relegation battle… but I’m worried about Hudson-Odoi, their attacking team and their weapons.
We are used to these environments and we will try. They will use their land at home, people at home… ”
Some of the first stars of the current team at Stamford Bridge are more than deprived of its talents,
Conor Gallagher described it before as “incredible”. In fact, Chelsea made a number of changes in wide attacking areas this summer,
with Christian Pulisic leaving on a permanent transfer and Hakim Ziyech joining on loan.
They are still waiting to see the best performances from Mykhailo Mudriku and Noni Maduke,
but there are many expectations as to what they can offer when given regular playing time.
