Chelsea are waiting to make an offer for defender Levi Colville in the summer transfer window, sources have told Football Insider.
The 21-year-old is a long-term target for Liverpool, with both PSG and the Blues concerned about his interest. Colville is a local product of Chelsea’s academy.
Sources told Football Insider earlier this month that the Blues were hoping to make a net profit off their local star this summer due to Financial Fair Play concerns.
Colville joins fellow locals Conor Gallagher, Armand Broja and Trebo Chalobah, who are all likely to be replaced at the end of the season.
Various injuries have limited the central defender to just 32 appearances in all competitions this season.
He is an important player for Mauricio Pochettino when he is fit and has become a regular in the Blues squad following loan spells at Huddersfield Town and Brighton.
The 21-year-old, who has one England cap, has played as both a central defender and left-back this season.
Corville signed a litigation contract in western London until 2029 and wrote a new six -year transaction at Stanford Bridge in August.
Palmer’s impact this season has been truly incredible and has been a revelation for our team.
Prior to joining Chelsea, his outstanding ability may have gone unnoticed, largely due to his limited appearances at City.
He was competing for a place at City with established players. His decision to join Chelsea may not have been easy,
but it provided him with a platform to showcase his great talent. At just 21 years old, he quickly became one of the club’s key players.
His impact on the field is an important and difficult expectation for his age players.
Palmer’s impressive performance sets him apart from some of the older players around him and he definitely deserves a raise.
Such recognition not only rewards his outstanding achievements, but also encourages other young talents to strive for greatness every week.
