Throughout his career, Gary Cahill played with and against some of the greatest soccer players of all time.
From Frank Lampard to Eden Hazard, Cahill has had the privilege of sharing
the pitch with some absolute superstars. Speaking to ESPN on TikTok, Cahill is now on a mission to create the so-called ideal footballer,
and as you might expect, many of his former Chelsea team-mates are credited with that.
Cahill said Cesc Fabregas had the best soccer IQ of any player he had ever seen,
and Cesar Azpilicueta had the best mentality. However, once the project was completed, Cahill chose Didier Drogba.
Didier Drogba may not have been the most prolific striker in Premier League history,
but he certainly knew how to keep his cool in key moments.
The former striker was quick to point out how well he handled the ball and how he ran to win England’s penalty.
Cole said: “I thought he was a great guy all night. I thought he handled the ball very well.
He had very good timing (in terms of penalties) and he knows he is responsible for the situation,
he has to beat him and once he puts the ball down you can’t expect anything else. “I was a bit worried because this was
Wembley in England, not Brentford Stadium, and it was a level above, but I thought it was as cool as
I wanted it to be and really fit into the team tonight. “It’s true.
It was just a friendly but Belgium were a good team and with England still trailing at home, the penalty was a big moment for Toney.
But he managed to keep his cool and show that the Brentford star is well suited for such important moments.
