Chelsea will face off against Manchester City and Liverpool over the signing of a striker this summer.
Mauricio Pochettino has been given options in attacking positions.
Argentinian players include Cole Palmer, Noni Madueke, Raheem Sterling and Mikhail Mudryk.
However, it seems possible that Sterling could leave Chelsea at the end of the season.
The winger is thought to have attracted interest from MLS.
Things are not going well for Sterling at the moment.
He had a game to forget against Leicester City at the weekend, missing a penalty and brutally converting a free-kick.
As a result, some Chelsea fans booed him off the pitch.
If the 29-year-old leaves Stamford Bridge, PSV Eindhoven’s Johan Bakayoko could be an option to fill his void.
Journalist Patrick Berger told X that Bakayoko is a top target for Europe’s biggest clubs, including Chelsea.
Berger said the Blues, City and Liverpool were all interested in signing the 20-year-old,
with a potential transfer fee of 60 million euros (approximately 5.1 billion yen).
This is not the first time Bakayoko has been linked with a move to England.
According to the Evening Standard, Chelsea’s west London rivals
Brentford were prepared to pay up to £34 million for the Belgian in the 2023 summer transfer window.
It was a record signing for Bakayoko for the Bees and showed how much they wanted him,
but he refused to move to G-Tech Community Stadium.
The Telegraph’s Matt Lowe said it would be surprising if Chelsea did not allow Madueka to leave this summer, given his lack of playing time this season.
The 22-year-old has only started four Premier League games under Pochettino.
But he reminded everyone of what he’s capable of with this weekend’s fantastic goal in
the FA Cup quarter-final against Leicester City. The Blues shouldn’t release him right away.
