The 51-year-old sparked a mini-comeback in the fortnight around the New Year, but #PochOut was trending on social media after back-to-back defeats to Liverpool and Wolves.
Chelsea fans have expressed their desire for Pochettino to leave the club, with many calling for him to be their manager after a particularly poor week.
The Blues have scored eight goals in their last two league games. A 4-1 win over Liverpool on Wednesday night and a 4-2 win over Wolves on Sunday.
Thiago Silva’s wife even said she believes Pochettino should no longer be in charge at Stamford Bridge.
The former Tottenham Hotspur and Paris Saint-Germain manager admitted he “felt bad for the fans” following
Chelsea’s loss to Wolves, but that will be of no consolation to fans who have seen the club slip into obscurity in recent days.
Medium group diving, 18 months. With Pochettino facing serious questions over his future, who could Chelsea sign if they decide to sack him?
Julian Nagelsmann
Julian Nagelsmann has been appointed Germany manager until 2023, but Chelsea could move him after this summer’s European Championships.
If the Blues want Nagelsmann, they will have to wait until after the Euros but it could be worth the wait.
Nagelsmann performed well for Bayern despite the unfortunate finish at the Allianz Arena and could be the man to bring success to Chelsea.
Roberto de Zerbi
Chelsea have been pushing for a move to Brighton for the past year and a half and while the appointment of Graham Potter has failed to materialise, the Blues could look to bring in Roberto De Zerbi.
The Italian was linked with the Chelsea boss before Pochettino’s arrival last summer and has performed well for Brighton this season despite his struggles.
His schematic system could benefit Chelsea’s formation, but Brighton will not want to lose another key figure for the Blues.
Jose Mourinho
It may come as a huge shock, but strange things happen in football. Jose Mourinho is currently sidelined after being sacked by AS Roma in December and is a legitimate contender for the Chelsea job if Pochettino leaves.
Blues fans began to sign Mourinho’s name after the defeat to Wolves, and a third return to Stamford Bridge could be attractive, even if he is not interested in a temporary role.
However, his recent managerial career does not mean he can improve Chelsea’s fortunes.
Reuben Amorim
Ruben Amorin has been tipped to be in the Premier League for several seasons but has yet to make the switch to Sporting CP.
A possible opening at Chelsea could provide the perfect opportunity for him to showcase his qualities in England, and his style would suit the current Blues squad well.
Since the arrival of Todd Bohli, Chelsea have tried to move away from a five-man system, but Amorim has primarily deployed this formation at Sporting,
which could help solve Chelsea’s defensive and midfield problems. Amorim will be quite a risky match, but Chelsea may have to gamble to get back on their feet.
Hansi Flick
Hansi Flick was spotted in Chelsea’s 0-0 draw with Fulham last November and could be tempted back into charge if the opportunity arises.
Although he has been on hiatus since being dropped from Germany’s national team following the World Cup in Qatar, Flick has impressed in his short spell at Bayern Munich.
He may not be the most obvious candidate, but Flick is an option Chelsea could use in the short term if Pochettino decides he isn’t right for the job.
