Although currently only 16 years old, the Chelsea youngster is respected as one of the best players in his position.
Kendry Paez was recently named the best attacking midfielder and young player of the season in the Ecuadorian League, according to Simon Johnson.
Chelsea are delighted to welcome Paez to the team. He is expected to join the team in 2025. But he doesn’t come without top-level experience.
He established himself as an important member of the Ecuadorian Brotherhood. He, along with Moises Caicedo, have gone a long way in helping their country qualify for the upcoming World Cup.
He also set several records, including several set by Brazilian legend Pele.
Johnson seems to be getting more recognition for his skills at this early stage of his career, but he listed accolades for his recently concluded campaign.
He said: “It’s really amazing. Kendry Paez, who will join Chelsea from Independiente del Valle next year, was named Ecuador’s best young player and best attacking midfielder at the age of 16.
He was also named Pro League Team of the Year. Paez will join the first team at the end of the England season and will complete pre-season training with the squad before arriving next season.
Todd Boly has recruited a number of young players since taking over at the club, so expectations are high that they will shine in the future.
There is no one better than Paez, who is looking to have quite an impressive career in the game.
