According to Calciomercato, Paulo Dybala’s contract includes a €13 million release clause that expires in July.
The same source claimed Chelsea are monitoring his situation but want clarity on the 30-year-old’s fitness before taking any action. Dybala has had many injury problems throughout his career, including this season.
However, the Argentine scored 5 goals and 6 assists in 13 Serie A matches. He was brought to Roma by Jose Mourinho, who had been sacked by the Italian club following a string of poor results. Dybala has emerged as a strong prospect in this summer’s transfer market.
The Argentina international is an elite striker worth just under £15million. It’s normal for a club like Chelsea to think about him. During his time at Juventus, Dybala scored 115 goals in 293 games and was praised as a “playable” striker by former manager Massimiliano Allegri.
“He still has room to improve, but he is an unplayable player at times,” Allegri said. “He’s becoming a special player.”
But Dybala is now 30 years old and is trying to hold his own again. However, at just €11 million, the former Juventus star looks to be worth another point. Nothing is expected to happen until the end of the season, meaning Mauricio Pochettino could face Nicolas Jackson, Armando Broza and Christopher Nkunku.
Of course, Chelsea have been linked with other strikers, including Napoli’s Victor Osimhen, but he is currently focused on the Africa Cup of Nations and has signed a new contract.
