The Blues have been trying to land a top striker to spearhead Mauricio Pochettino’s attack since January, while Chelsea continue to be linked with the likes of Victor Osimhen.
With just two weeks left in the transfer window, time is running out for Chelsea to sign a striker, but the Blues now have a new name.
According to the Evening Standard, Slovenia international Cesko is currently attracting attention from Chelsea, with the 20-year-old forward currently playing for Bundesliga side Leipzig.
A graduate of the Red Bull production line, Sesko has been compared to Manchester City superstar Erling Holland for his physicality and ruthless finishing in front of goal.
With former Chelsea technical director Christopher Wiebel labeling him a “very fast” player, it’s easy to see why the Blues are currently eyeing Cesco, despite the fact that such a deal could be expensive.
Any striker compared to Haaland would attract the interest of big European clubs and Cesko looks set to do just that at Chelsea. Given how young the striker is, Cesko fits Chelsea’s long-term prospects under Todd Boly perfectly, and Pochettino is also the perfect manager for the Slovenia international.
However, given how much money Leipzig want for Czesko, Chelsea may need to sell a player or two to finance a deal, and the Blues are limited in how much they can spend in the current market.
