Chelsea star Raheem Sterling has revealed his desire to play alongside Christopher Nkunku this season.
Nkunku has had a miserable spell since joining Chelsea. He has had a few injuries and is just getting back to fitness.
The Frenchman brought home a consolation to Liverpool this week to show his quality.
Of course, Mauricio Pochettino will also be happy to have Nkunku back. This will allow the Chelsea manager to play with his best strikers.
Speaking to Sky Sports, Chelsea star Raheem Sterling admitted he is looking forward to playing alongside Nkunku after watching him in pre-season.
Speaking to Sky about Nkunku’s return to fitness, Sterling admitted he would be a huge boost for the Blues.
“It’s going to be big. During training, I was very interested in what kind of player he was and we got on well with him.
But again, not happy with his injury. But he’s back and he’s going to be a huge boost for us and he’s an experienced player,” Sterling said.
There was certainly excitement when Nkunku arrived from Chelsea, but it’s a shame he suffered so many injuries.
However, if he can return to fitness and get game time, he could help Chelsea finish the season well.
Of course, a top-flight European finish is almost impossible for Chelsea, but they are just five points off sixth place and there is no reason why they can’t challenge.
Nkunku will be very important for them if they want to finish this match together. A strong finish to the season will set the Blues up for next season.
