Sources have told Football Insider that Chelsea have agreed to sign Aaron Anselminho from Boca Juniors
on a permanent deal for £17 million plus extras. The 19-year-old central defender will return to Buenos Aires-based Boca
Juniors for six months on an initial loan deal. This is considered at the end of the Argentine League season in December.
Chelsea has not yet announced the Anselmino contract, but is believed to have been confirmed in less procedures.
The Londoners beat Man United Competition to conclude an agreement. It is believed that United made a “main
proposal” for the ascending star, but Chelsea exceeded them. The 19-year-old appears to be the latest South American
wonderkid to join the west London club after the two clubs agreed a fee of £17 million plus additional fees.
Anselmino may only be 19 years old, but he is already being touted as a potential superstar. Chelsea have secured
the signing of an impressive central defender with both feet and a passing savvy.
Just hours before making his debut at 18 years old, the young Argentine, who has just signed his first professional contract
for June 2023, made a strong impression on the Boca faithful. He has made just 10 appearances since then but
Chelsea splashed the cash to secure his signature, adding him to a growing list of young players.
The Blues are looking to make the most of the South American market after signing Brazilian wonderkid Estevao for £28m plus extras.
