Mauricio Pochettino could leave Chelsea if he does not have more say in the club’s transfer policy during planned talks with the club’s management.
The 52-year-old Argentine signed a two-year deal with the Blues last summer, but it remains to be seen whether he will remain in charge beyond
this month after an eventful first season. Pokettino was under pressure from the consistent results from the season section,
but others were linked to work at Stanford Bridge. However, after seeing the strong end of the season, Chelsea ranked sixth in Fast Liga.
Pochettino is expected to learn his fate at a summit with Chelsea co-owners Todd Boley and Behadad Egbali later this week.
And there was talk that Chelsea could be without Pochettino, but it looks like Pochettino could be on the verge of leaving
the Blues unless the club’s plans are guaranteed in the transfer window. A new report from talkSPORT claims
Pochettino wants more control over transfers after being “disappointed” by his lack of involvement during his previous spell.
Additionally, Pochettino is keen to retain born midfielder Conor Gallagher.
However, Chelsea are reportedly ready to match an offer for the 24-year-old, who has just one year left on his contract.
Recent reports suggest that Ipswich Town manager Kieran McKenna is one of the candidates being considered if
the Blues and Pochettino part ways in the coming weeks. Pochettino remained tight-lipped when asked about
the details of his controversial end-of-season review after Chelsea’s 2-1 win over Bournemouth on the final day of the season. he said:
“I don’t know if that’s going to happen. I don’t know about this.
“All I can say is that Todd took me out to dinner on Friday night and it was a great dinner. But I don’t know about any rumors of revision.
`My employees are going on vacation tomorrow. I will stay in London for a few days. I am always open. My phone is turned on.
